About Gravity Indoor Skydiving
Gravity opened in December 2015 as Bahrain's first indoor skydiving centre. Its Aerodium-built tunnel has a tempered-glass flight chamber with an overall height of 12 metres, among the tallest glass chambers when it opened. It sits in Zallaq, about 35 km from Manama.
A first flight starts with forms, then a flight suit, shoes, helmet, goggles and earplugs. An instructor gives a short briefing on body position, then flies with you. You start low, and as the airflow rises the instructor helps lift you towards the top of the chamber before bringing you back down.
Bahrain's tourism authority lists the ideal age as 4 and over, with special prices for under-16s. Children can join a kids' flight club in superhero costumes, and Gravity runs birthday packages. Experienced flyers come for coaching and training. The tunnel hosted the FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving in October 2018. Indoors and air-conditioned, it is one of the few adventure activities in the south that works in summer.
